Refurbishment of Ye Lai Buddhist Monastery for HIV-Patients
Since 2006 PIN has supported the Ye Lai Monastery for patients living with HIV/AIDS. Working closely with the monks in the aftermath of Cyclone Nargis in 2008, we donated two concrete, two-story buildings to accommodate the HIV-patients.
After five years of continuous use by a high number of HIV-patients the two houses became run down – the roof leaked, and kitchen, toilets, and washrooms had to be refurbished. In March and April 2014, PIN completely renovated the two Monastery buildings devoted to HIV-patients and their relatives.
In March and April 2014 we finished a complete renovation of the two (secular) buildings at the Monastery.
