Boarding House for Girls Yangon Ywar Village

Many young girls from the remote villages would like to attend Primary and Middle Schools. If there are no schools in their home villages the girls have to stay in a boarding house close to the school location similar to a home at a boarding school. To help the education of the girls the Good Shepherd Sisters in Yangon Ywar arranged for a boarding house for 60 girls.

The construction and the furniture of the new boarding house were financed by the Kindermissionswerk “Sternsinger”; it was officially opened in November 2007 and it was fully occupied in June 2008 at the start of the new school year. The boarding house is part of the Rehabilitation and Education project close to Tachileik. PIN assumed the operating cost for the new boarding house and the girl students as part of the project.
